lyrics
The boy was born to mother torn
A crime put forward between two kins
And so he grew without Father
Unwanted in his hometown
He struck out, fame of his to found
To 'void the fate of another
There on the road he met the Wizard
Robe of white and ring and crown
He stood no higher than his shoulder
The great man bent and whispered low,
Said "son, your Kingdom, greatly though,
Will soon be greater for your hold there"
The wizard he talked through the night
Of wonders to come at first light
Upon the quest with little rest
The boy was thrust unto the man
To reap reward of his bloodline
No seconds lost, against all cost
The man must rise to claim the land
Or else the darkness will entwine
The magic burning, wizard yearning
To reveal the mysteries
Of myth and history
But on the eve of learning's
Sweet reprise, the wizard meets Demise
His soul is sundered from its charge
The boy, he heard in the wind
The voice of the wizard again
"There'll be nowhere where you'll walk alone
Until Arthur is sat on His throne."
Now on his own, but fully grown,
Young Arthur works to reclaim his throne
And strives to merger all his land
The great, the good, the wooded hood,
The druids and drihten collect where he stood
He calls the Kingdom to his hand
Amongst the throng, he hears the song
Of brothers brave and true and strong,
The Knights who pay him their homage
And so we hear the clarion clear
The Knights of Arthur now appear
To free the people from bondage
The quest takes on a new hue
The ancestor's sword is now due
He will take up the blade by his hand
He will take it to defend his land
Out on the field with fellows fair
The fabled Arthur leads to the lair
Of Morgan, witch of wide-run fame
She takes a look, and from a nook
Removes a worn and weary book
She casts a spell to find true aim
There in the darkness of the cave
The magic opens like a wave,
It shines a spear-beam to the east
And there the brothers find the lake
And from the waters now awake
The magic blade is released
The sword, she calls out your name
And the ancestors whisper your fame
Now that you have been given the Sword
You are truly our Sovereign Lord
[The Knights who joined him confirmed their adherence to his law,
And set up a great meeting place near that space,
And all came freely, free men, to fight for justice and peace in the land,
{And to offset the tides of darkness that swept in from all sides}]

Warnings
Of Ash and Fire
Burning into the
Mornings
Around the Sacred Court
Portents
Of Darkness Dire
Drawing out through the
Dawning
Of Evil in their hearts...
The war was wrought without a reason
The rhyme was wrent without a word
The way was lost and all a-sundered
The days of death incurred
The blow was struck without a weapon
The day was left without a dawn
The life was lost from mighty Arthur
The noble warriors mourned
The knights now ride to work the wonder
To find the Grael of the Earth
To gain the favour of the Mother
And uphold their sacred worth
----------------------------------
Now victory won, the fabled son,
He stands in silence - deed is done,
The healing power has begun...
No room to wait, now never late,
The charge of Arthur's at the gates,
He knows the song that must be sung
Without a word, a gift unfurled,
The might of magic heals the world -
The way of truth and power's heard
The soul and source of our King
Resounds through rod and crown and ring
Our mighty Arthur has returned...
The Kingdom prepares for a war...
They will suffer the darkness no more...
Now on to war with comrades four,
The Bright King balely beats back the
Black, the Knight of Error and Evil Ways
Their armies charge, the soil groans,
The magic of life-love beneath 'gins to moan,
The Earth remembers brighter days
The Great Lord Arthur straddles his pride
And lifts his blade unto the sky
He calls the Cosmos to our aid
And down from Heaven above, the Light of Love
Begets the Son thereof, and
Never shall the debt be paid
The darkness lost to the light
Our King sailed away in the night
Tell me Arthur is King of this land...
Tell me he will defend by his hand...

Allow me to copy Pagan Altar's third album title to describe not only III:Pentecost but the whole discography of Wytch Hazel so far: well, yes, it's Magical and Mythical!!! A must-have for the lovers of 70's hard sound revival. BoneWalker

If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
